Norm McDonald

Most people have a list of people in their head that they asociate with funny. I associate Norm McDonald with all the other greats. He was on SNL the same years as Adam Sandler, Chris Farley, and David Spade. He was the green bean in the lunch lady land skit.
Most people don't remember his greatest skits but, he did a great job playing Burt Reynolds on Jeopardy with Will Ferrel. It may seem strange to write the entire blog over a celebrity that some people would not even recognize on the street, but ever since Billy Madison I can't get enough of Norm McDonald. He played a very minor role in the film, but he happened to say some of the best lines such as: Billy-"There's something I was supposed to do today." Norm- "Have seven daqueries, No, you remembered to do that." He serves as Sandler's best friend. In the scene where they are watching the news tehre is a report that Hotel tycoon's son, pays teacher off. Norm says, "Now Now, maybe it's somebody else" Then he waits for the rest of the news story like there is another Hotel tycoon's son redoing first through twelfth grade. I laugh everytime I see this part. He pauses at all the right moments. I once heard that the key to comedy is the pauses you take for the joke to disgest. Norm has mastered the art of pausing.

He is sarcastic and has a witty dry humor to him.
He had a TV show for awhile called Norm. It was cancelled after the first season, I however liked it, it was like the Drew Carrey show. He also was a writer for the T.V. show Roseanne. He will be more reacently appearing in Adam Sandler's new film Funny People, doing a cameo as he plays a comedian.
Norm grew up in Canada, but he currently resides in Canada today.

Adam Sandler

Adam Sandler was born in Brooklyn, New York, the son of Judy, a nursery school teacher, and Stanley Sandler, an electrical engineer. Sandler is Jewish. When he was five, his family moved to Manchester, New Hampshire, where he attended Manchester Central High School. He found he was a natural comic, and nurtured his talent while at New York University by performing regularly in clubs and on campuses. He graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1991 (Wikepedia).

His SNL skit the lunch lady land was inspired by his real lunch lady at New York University. He was very sucessful on SNL, but he left to pursue a career in film. He has starred in, produced, and helped write many of them. His main money maker right now is his film prouction company Happy Madison.

Although he has produced some sucessful films, he has also starred in many of them. Such as Billy Madison his first major hit. Before that was a film called Going Overboard. He proceeded those films with Happy Gilmore, where he played a hockey player turned golfer. Then came Big Daddy where he watches over a best friends kid, claiming to be him to social services as Sunny Cofax. Next there is Water Boy, he played a waterboy turned football player, Bobby Bouschay. Then came Mr. Deeds, where he played the nephew of a deceased billionare and recieves his foutune. Then came 50 First Dates, where he played a man who falls inlove with a girl who forgets him each night. Later came The Longest Yard remake, where he plays Paul Crew. He then did two serious films; Spanglish and Reign Over me. They were ill recieved by some of the die hard fans, but he came back with Chuck and Larry, Co starring with Kevin James, they act as a gay couple for insurance purposes.

In every film sandler uses a lot of the same people. His usual crew includes: Rob Schnieder, Steve Busceni, John Turturro,John Lovitz, Clint Howard, Norm Mac Donald, and longtime pals Allen Covert, Peter Dante, and Johnathan Laughron.

He is currently working on a film called Funny People. Also he will be working on a movie this summer with, Kevin James, David Spade, Chris Rock, and Rob Schneider.

He is married to Jacquline Samantha Titone, whom he met on the set of Big Daddy, she played the waitress. They have two beautiful daughters together.

David Spade

David Wayde Spade age 44 of Burmingham, Michigan is one of the greatest comedians of all time. Before he was famous he made money as a busboy, a valet parker, and a skee ball championship competitor. So as you can see he was destined for greatness.
He went to SNL as an actor and a writer. He was on several classic and epic SNL skits. He played Christy fron the Gap girls where he starred as a women along side Chris Farley and Adam Sandler. He also impersonated Brad Pitt and Michael J. Fox. He also played a rude and sarcastic flight attended that told all of the passengers "buh-bye". He also acted like a scarcastic Hollywood reporter and made fun of the stars he was interviewing.
His most known works would probably be the classic film, Tommy Boy, where he starred along side Chris Farley. They were a perfect pair. They also did a movie called Black Sheep a year after Tommy Boy. Tommy Boy proves more popular and even now remains popular with a cult following. Some of the lines live on in infamy by the die hard fans. Such as, "Were you callin from a walky talky?" and "Don't be the hero!" It is one of my personal favorites. Sadly the sucess ended with the tragic overdose of Chris Farley. David Spade did not attend the funeral like I said. He said, "I could not go somewhere where Chris was in a box."
David Spade has had some success with other films such as Joe Dirt, where he rocks a mullet, and Dikie Roberts childhood star. He plays a child actor who grows up to find that he needs to learn about family life to make a comeback in the role of a lifetime. He ends up helping the family and falling in love with the mom.
He also played some successful roles on sitcoms and tv shows. He played Finch on Just Shoot Me. He also took the place of John Ritter on 8 Simple Rules as cousin CJ. He is currently on the tv show Rules of Engagement. He is still in the spotlight and was currently spotted with Jennifer Aniston when she ditched the primere of her new movie, "He's Just Not That In To You." They said that they are just friends. He has in the past also been linked to Nicolette Sheridan and Heather Locklear.

A tribute to Chris Farley!

For my first official blog I thought it might be appropriate to do a tribute to a fallen comedian; Christopher Crosby Farley. Chris Farley was an iconic figure of the 90s. He grew up in Madison Wisconsin. He was born to an Irish Catholic Family with three brothers and a sister (Wikipedia). Many people know Chris from SNL, but what they do not know is that he worked in an oil field with his dad and was discovered by a SNL scout.

Chris Farley's best of SNL includes an motivational speaker named Matt Foley that tells kids that they are gonna end up just like him, "livin' in a van down by the river. He is also known for "da bears", or the Chicago Bears fans. Another one of his best is the lunch lady land skit. He plays a lunch lady while starring opposite Adam Sandler. "The Chris Farley Show", is another great skit where he, while playing his self, is a nervous interviewer interviewing stars on the show. He also does a Chip and Dales skit opposite Patrick Swayze. The last of his more famous skits is the poorly hygenic news anchor who air quotes his self. He says things like, "Maybe I don't shower regularly" or "I smell like wet dog." He could play anything from a lunch lady to a male stripper and audiences couldn't get enough.

Then after ending his contract with SNL, he branched out into the film business. He played the bus driver in "Billy Madison" and appeared in the movie, "Cone Heads". Then he teamed up with David Spade. In my opinion they were the greatest comedic duo of all time. They had personalities that just clicked so well together. Their first movie together was "Tommy Boy", which was a box office hit, but later developed a cult following. They also did the movie, "Black Sheep". It was not as big as "Tommy Boy", but it is not one that should be missed. Some of the quotes from these movies will serve as the bud of jokes for years to come. Such as: "Bees, Bees in the car, your firearms are useless against them.", "A lot of people go to college for seven years," "Yeah, they're called doctors." and finally the classic, "Whadaya do?" If someone ever were to quote "Tommy Boy" to me, I would crack up; and not just for a minute or two, more or less a full on, roll on the ground, stomach hurts so bad I want to die laughing.

Even in all of his sucess he still had some hardships. Chris had struggled with drug and alchol addiction for years and even admitted his self to various clinics a reported seventeen times (Wikipedia). He died of a drug overdose at the age of thirty-three. It was reported that he had done a speedball, or a combination of cocaine and morphine. It was the same age and type of drug that took the life of another SNL favorite, Jim Belushi. The attendees at his funeral included "Dan Ackroid, Norm McDonald, Adam Sandler, and five hundred others but, surprizingly not David Spade. When asked why he didn't attend he smiply replied, "I could not go somewhere where Chris would be in a box." (SNL greats). I am sure he is remembered by all of his costars and I know he is missed by my friends and me. Check out his movies and the best of Chris Farley, SNL, you will not be dissappointed.

In the weeks to come: Norm McDonald, David Spade, Adam Sandler, Jim Gaffigin, Chris Catan, Will Ferrell, Molly Shannon, Chris Rock, Rob Schiender, Robin Williams and more.
